Homemade Brownies from Scratch are an easy dessert recipe that the whole family will enjoy.
We love brownies. Growing up I think my mom made brownies at least once a week. This recipe come from a bakery I use to work at and they taste great plain or with buttercream icing.
Homemade Brownies from Scratch
These brownies are a great treat when we are in the fields in the spring or fall. I also love to make them for the holidays and add different flavors of icing, like mint for Christmas or St. Patrick’s Day or strawberry or raspberry for Valentine’s Day. I also love them with peanut butter icing and mini chocolate chips. This recipe is so versatile and a staple at our house.
How To Make Homemade Brownies from Scratch
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- This recipe is easy to make and starts with melting the butter.
- Add remaining ingredients and mix until combined.

- Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until done in the middle.
- Once cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar or frost with icing, cut and serve.
Tips For Making Homemade Brownies from Scratch
- Darker pans will cook faster. I prefer to bake with lighter pans for best results.
- A cake tester can be used to make sure the center of the brownies are cooked fully.
- Pan size matters when baking. Too small of a pan and your brownies will take longer to cook and too big of a pan your brownies will be thin and over baked.
