I think it is mandatory to love cinnamon rolls in our family. In fact, it might be genetic.
The smell of them baking reminds me of my grandma. She made the best cinnamon rolls and would make them for us every time we went to see her. While this isn’t her recipe, I think she would be proud!
First thing first, mix up your yeast mixture.
It should look like this after a couple of minutes.
Mix your ingredients.
Let your Kitchen Aid Mixer do some kneading for you!!
Place some oil in the bottom of a large bowl (so your dough doesn’t stick).
Let rise.
Here is a hint for rolling out anything cookies, dough etc. If you get the area slightly wet with water the flour will stick better to the surface which means your dough won’t stick as easily!
Knead
I use two different kinds of cinnamon.
Here is how to make a braid. Cut 3 equal strips and roll them up tightly.
Take 3 strips and braid them together.
You can also make a pan of rolls by making one roll and cutting every inch or so. If you want to make regular cinnamon rolls cut every two inches and then take your hand and lightly press down on each roll. Cover and let rise again.
Bake and frost warm rolls with Cream Cheese Frosting!! This recipe makes a bunch so I usually split the dough in half and freeze half of it.
Perfect with milk!! Yum!

I can smell them from here! Reminds me of going to one of our county fairs….they have a cinnamon bun booth and the line is always 50 people deep…so good:)
Cinammon Rolls with a glass of milk. Perfect!
Firstly, I love Penzey’s!! You should see my stash of goodies from there. Oh, the money I have spent!!
Secondly, I LOVE THAT BRAID!!!! I’ve never seen such a cute cinnamon “roll” shape. Absolutely inspirational… I want to head into the kitchen and make a batch right now.
So you just bake the braid as is?
Cinnamon rolls are by far my favorite treat. I can actually eat all of them. No matter how many that is.
And the braid?! Amazing!! I will definitely be trying that some time in the near future.
Those look divine! The braid you made looks amazing! Thanks for sharing the recipe! 🙂
