Vanilla Texas Sheet Cake with Cream Cheese Icing

Ingredients

  • 2 2/3 cup flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter divided
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla divided
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1 8 ounce package cream cheese
  • 1 pound powdered sugar.

Instructions

  • Mix flour and sugar together in a large bowl.
  • Bring 1/2 cup butter, oil and water to a boil and pour over flour mixture.
  • Beat thoroughly.
  • Beat in eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla, cinnamon, soda and buttermilk.
  • Pour in greased 11 x 17 inch, pan.
  • Bake 20 minutes in 350 degree oven.
  • To make the icing, cream together 1/2 cup butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla and cream cheese.
  • Blend in powdered sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
  • Spread over warm cake.
