Welcome to this weeks 2 Maids a Baking!!
Today’s recipe comes from an Amish cookbook and is similar to Sugar Cream Pie.
I love this recipe because it is so simple and I usually have all the ingredients on hand!!
Start by sprinkling dark brown sugar in your favorite pie crust.
Add flour and salt.
Pour evaporated milk over the filling.
Dot with butter.
Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Bake!
Let cool and serve at room temperature.
Amish Brown Sugar Pie:
1 cup dark brown sugar
3 tablespoons flour
1 pinch of salt
12 oz evaporated milk
2 1/2 tablespoons butter
sprinkle cinnamon on top
Add ingredients to pie shell in order. Do not mix. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Sounds really, really good! I wonder if regular milk could be used rather than the evaporated? Any thoughts on that?

@Lisa – I’m not sure if the pie would setup if you used regular milk.

This pie sounds easy and yummy!! Something different to take to church dinners! Do you think Almond Milk would work with this recipe?
I would be afraid that the pie wouldn’t set up with the Almond Milk….
