I love the Indiana State Fair.

I have always loved the Indiana State Fair.

I have been to many a fair and none compare to my Indiana State Fair.

I haven’t missed a state fair since I can remember.

I have pretty much grown up at the Indiana State Fair.

I learned about boys at the Indiana State Fair… shhh don’t tell!!

I learned what hard work was at the Indiana State Fair.

I learned that hard work pays off at the Indiana State Fair.

I learned that life isn’t about winning at the fair.

I have learned that some of your strongest friendships can be with those you see and spend time with at the Indiana State Fair. Even if you only see them a couple times a year.

I have slept in a camper at the Indiana State Fair.

I have slept in a barn at the Indiana State Fair.

Both of my adult jobs have led to me to working at the Indiana State Fair. I am a proud member of this year’s Bean Team.

I have many a memory made at the great Indiana State Fair.

I have seen many a concert at the fair including; REO Speedwagon, Def Leppard, Bad Company, Kenny Chesney, Alabama (going way back!!), Keith Urban (multiple times… can’t help myself!!), Rascal Flatts, Chris Cagle (I would get in trouble by all my girls if I didn’t mention he was my boyfriend all through college..haha he just didn’t know it!!) and this year a last minute opportunity to go to the Sugarland concert with my husband and blogging partner, my sis-in-law Amy.

When my hubby and I had first started dating he bought me a Sugarland cd….

We would text each other when one of their songs would came on the radio.

It would have been the first time we had ever seen them in concert.

I’m sure all of you have seen the video, heard the screams, and witnessed the tragedy that fell over Indianapolis this past week.

At first I was in shock and didn’t believe it really happened.

Then my heart ached for the families who lost loved ones and I prayed for the speedy recovery of those who were injured.

Since then there hasn’t been a day where I haven’t been touched and moved to tears by the events that have taken place.

I am proud to be a Hoosier.

I will be honest and say that I was afraid I would have a hard time being at the fair again and it was hard.

But then I experienced a day that was filled with reasons I love the state fair.

I witnessed two of my best friends bring their kids to the fair for the first time.

I spent the evening talking and laughing with family and friends.

We enjoyed fair food and tried some new options for the first time.
I answered questions about cows and agriculture.

We were in the cattle barn and I watched as my nieces and nephew swept the aisle, fed and watered the cows and walked heifers. I couldn’t help but smile.

Tomorrow admission is free to the fair so come on out and show your support for the Great and Incredible Indiana State Fair!!

Please continue praying for all those affected!

And so I leave you with the lyric’s of a Sugarland song…

Is it the face of a child
Is it the thrill of danger
Is it the kindness we see in the eyes of a stranger
Is it more than faith
Is it more than hope
Is it waiting for us at the end of our rope

I say it’s love
I say it’s love

Is it the one you call home
Is it the Holy Land
Is it standing right here holding your hand
Is it just like the movies
Is it rice and white lace
Is it the feeling I get when I wake to your face
I say it’s love
I say it’s love

Is it the first summer storm
Is it the colors of fall
Is it having so little
And yet having it all
Is it one in a million
Is it a chance to belong
Is it standing right here singing this song

I say it’s love
I say it’s love
I say it’s love
I say it’s love
I say it’s love
I say it’s love
I say it’s love
I say it’s love

Is it a veil or a cross
Is it the poet’s gift
Is it the face that has launched over thousands of ships

Is it making you laugh
Is it letting you cry
Is it where we believe that we go when we die
Is it how you were made
Is it your mother’s ghost
Is it the wish that I’m wishing for your life, for your life, for your life the most
