Deluxe Biscuit Pizza Bake
One of the downsides to living in the country is that pizza delivery is not an option. Let’s be honest no one delivers in the country. But recipes like this make getting dinner on the table easy!
The crust of this pizza is made using biscuits, we prefer the Pillsbury’s frozen buttermilk biscuits that come in a bag over the canned biscuits. For some reason the canned ones always taste sweet to us. But, feel free to use whatever your family likes! I usually pull the frozen biscuits out 20-30 minutes before I need them so they can thaw.
You can also customize the toppings for this pizza based on personal preferences and if you household is like ours you can make it half one set of toppings and half another!
Deluxe Biscuit Pizza Bake
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground sausage
- 16 frozen buttermilk biscuits or 2 tubes {12 oz.} of refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
- 1 pkg. 3 1/2 oz. sliced pepperoni
- 1 can 4 oz. mushroom stems and pieces, drained
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- I jar 12 oz. pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded pizza style cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Pull biscuits out of freezer, place on a plate and let thaw.
- In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until no longer pink; drain.
- Quarter biscuits and place evenly in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle sausage over biscuits.
- Layer with pepperoni, green pepper, onion, mushroom, pizza sauce and top with cheeses.
- Bake, uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until cheese is melted.
We do not have the frozen buttermilk biscuits or refrigerated tubes of buttermilk biscuits. What alternative do y.ou sug gest

Do you mean cut the biscuits into four pieces and then put them into the pan

I have never done that before, i’m not sure how the biscuits would hold up…
