We usually have a lot of beef roasts in the freezer and I can only eat so much pot roast. Don’t get me wrong I love pot roast but need some variety every now and then! My hubby is a picky eater but is a total meat and potato man so I had a feeling that if I could get him to try this, he would love it and I was right!

Italian Beef Sandwiches

I love recipes like this one where you can toss everything in the crock pot.

I made this recipe with only about half of the jar of Pepperoncini pepper slices, because I am a wimp about heat. But you could use the whole jar and juice to kick it up a notch!  And since I only used half the jar I could make it again the next week, it’s that good!

You can make the sandwiches with just buns but the garlic bread version is our favorite! Either way, I would recommend that you toast the bread so it doesn’t get soggy.

Have you ever used your stand mixer to shred your meat? Super easy and you won’t burn your hands shredding the hot meat!

I made this years ago and lost the recipe. Simple ingredients, so I winged it. The only difference was that I combined the ingredients and baked it in the oven on 325 F for about 2-3 hours. Turns out perfect with Au Jus already in the pan. Amazing recipe! Thank you for sharing!!!

Thanks, for the idea of this in the slow cooker I make this all the time, normally on the stove though. I will have to try it in the slow cooker next time I make it.

Lucky: This is an outstanding dish. I make this in the oven and in addition, I add a can of beef broth/stock and a ton of sliced onions and 3 cloves of fresh garlic. It is so low-maintenance. Throw everything in and bake it at 325 for 3-4 hours (depending on the weight of meat).I find that it is much faster in the oven than the SLOW COOKER. I serve it on split, garlic broiled italian bread. (I use focaccia rolls) and top with meat (including some pepperoncinis, and sliced provolone). Sooo yummy!
