This cookbook made me long for summer and fresh veggies from the garden. I can’t wait to cook and can recipes from this cookbook later this summer! There are also cute-as-a-button copy and cut canning labels in the back of the cookbook that will come in handy!
I love the way this cookbook is set up, there are 5 different chapters including; Break of Day Breakfasts, Garden-Fresh Soups & Salads, Family Dinner Favorites, Blue-Ribbon Desserts and Classic Country Canning.
I whipped up three recipes from the cookbook to share with you!
Mommy’s Pasta Fagioli was a huge hit at our house! Even my picky eater hubby loved it! This is a recipe that will be on our farmhouse menu in the future! Click here for the recipe.
The recipe for Root Beer Cake caught my eye the first time I flipped through the cookbook. I had never heard of such a thing and knew I had to make it! I brought the cake to the farm and it was gobbled up in minutes! Click here for the recipe!

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup and Chilli!
It’s hard to pick a favorite food that I like to cook. But two favorites in winter are chilli and potatoe soup.
would have to be Chili with homemade rolls or homemade ham and bean soup. Neither last very long around our house!
Chili is my favorite for winter. Looks like a great cookbook. Would love to try making the potatoe rolls.

I Love to make homemade chicken rice soup with butternut squash pureed in the broth. It makes the broth really hearty & flavorful! Served with bisquits. Yum!

I love a good winter stew with all kinds of vegetables and cornbread on the side.
Probably a roast or maybe a good chili! We have a deep freeze full of wild game!!

My favorite recipe to make would be a soup recipe, either Italian Meatball Soup , Chili or Hamburger soup. Also we like homemade bread to go with which ever soup I make !
Gooseberry Patch are the most awesome cookbooks EVER , you can never have to many of them !
I love to make Chicken and Dumplings in the winter time. It’s good old stick to your ribs comfort food. BTW–I love Gooseberry Patch cookbooks, and this would be an awesome win for me, because drawing day (28th) is my birthday! Keeping my fingers crossed. :o)
Soups & stews, I use a slow cooker quite a bit, like making bread bowls for the soup..
I love a good everything in it vegetable soup served with cornbread or peanut butter sandwiches.
I love making Roast with potatoes, carrots, celery and cabbage in the crockpot. Then day two add the canned tomatoes and bag of frozen mixed vegetables and its Vegetable Beef Soup.
I love to make homemade vegetable soup and cornbread. Yum!
