I whipped up three recipes from the cookbook to share with you!

I love to slow roast a pork roast, then turn it into pulled pork, with roasted squash and sweet potatoes on the side.Some pepper jack cheese cornbread is perfect with it, too.

any kind of soup or stew with Cornbread!! easy Mustgo soup is a family and now church favorite…anything that is in the fridge/freezer that “Must Go” goes in my Mustgo Soup! Yummy!!!
We have a few favorites around here…One is Loaded Potato Soup, another is Tater Tot Casserole, & the third is pasta dish made w/Rotini pasta, spaghetti sauce, ground sausage, mushrooms, black olives,n pepperoni, & provolone cheese….yummy!!

One of my favorite winter recipes is Ham and Bean soup. Growing up in a German family, we always added a little cream and some vinegar to the soup. And to go with the bean soup, mom or grandma always made Shlitz Keuchle (Love Knots). Roll out a 2 x 4 piece of dough, make 2 slits in each piece, twist, and deep fry. So good with powdered sugar, sugar and cinnamon, dipped in honey, or just plain!! [email protected]

I just plain love to cook in the wintertime!!!! I use my crockpot at least 3 times a week to make soups and stews and chili. But one of my favorite comfort foods is called “Come Without Calling” and it was something my mom made all my life…. it resembles goulash for most of you. My kids have 2 favorite soups, loaded baked potato soup and broccoli cheddar soup. Those are the ones I like to make because I know they will eat it.
A pot of homemade chickena nd noodles or chicken and dumplings always manage to take me bake to my childhood. I think smelling the chicken cooking for several hours on the stove was my favorite thing on a cold day.
I love to take one of our farm raised chickens and make a big pot of chicken and barley soup with onion, carrots, celery all the good stuff! And I would LOVE to win that cookbook 🙂

Chili … I grow tomatoes, peppers, celery and onions. I juice and can whole tomatoes for the chili and freeze the peppers and celery. I dehydrate the onions. I tried growing kidney beans but the drought this year they didn’t grow 🙁

Looks like I agree with most everyone here…I tend to make chili in the winter but rarely in the warmer months. I have recently started making soups quite often since everyone in the house works a different schedule. Easier for them to just heat up and great for taking lunches to work for me! I would love to own this book for the soup/salad chapter alone!
